Highlight | Renewal of the UNESCO Chair on Peace Studies at NJU

On 16 February 2023, the UNESCO Chair on Peace Studies at Nanjing University , awarded to Nanjing University in September 2017 has been approved by UNESCO Headquarters and renewed for another four-year term till December 31, 2025.


Professor LIU Cheng from the School of History of Nanjing University will continue to serve as the Chairholder of UNESCO Chair on Peace Studies and the new logo for the Chair is authorized.


The Chair on Peace Studies is the only one Chair appointed by UNESCO on  Peace Studies in China. Since its establishment in September 2017, the Chair has been dedicated to the noble cause of human peace and development and achieved remarkable results in peace research, peace education and peace activities, greatly contributing to enhancing the international reputation of Nanjing University on peace studies.


The Chair has received high recognition from UNESCO and relevant departments of the Chinese Government. It will further develop global exchanges and cooperation, offer peace proposals by Chinese universities, and make greater contributions to world peace.
